Indo-Pacific Veterans Affairs Intern–Now Hiring


1. Core Values & Mission Alignment

 

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the shared values of the U.S. and its Indo‑Pacific allies, including freedom, rule of law, and alliance solidarity.

- Show genuine care, responsibility, and a passion for serving active‑duty and veteran communities.

 

2. Military / Professional Background (Preferred)

 

- Strongly preferred: Active‑duty or veteran status from the U.S., Japan, ROK, Philippines, or other Indo‑Pacific allied nations.

- Prior experience working in defense institutions, veteran affairs departments, or military‑related organizations is a significant advantage.

- Familiarity with military culture, alliance dynamics, or veteran support systems is highly valued.

 

3. Communication & Interpersonal Skills

 

- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Demonstrate strong active listening abilities and the capacity to build trust with military and veteran personnel.

- Ability to communicate with empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when engaging with diverse service members.

- Multilingual skills (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Tagalog) are a plus.

 

4. Work Ethic & Confidentiality

 

- Be detail‑oriented, organized, and reliable, with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.

- Strictly adhere to all confidentiality protocols, privacy regulations, and ethical standards.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and care.

 

5. Administrative & Data Management Abilities

 

- Proficient in basic data management, document organization, and information synthesis.

- Capable of maintaining clear, searchable, and secure beneficiary records.

- Skill to assist in drafting meeting minutes, informational summaries, and preliminary reports.

- Comfortable using standard office tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).

 

6. Learning Agility & Interest

 

- Eagerness to learn about veteran affairs, Indo‑Pacific defense policy, and regional security trends.

- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks, workflows, and service requirements.

- Proactive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support team objectives.

 

7. Work Arrangement

 

- Flexible schedule and ability to coordinate across time zones in the Indo‑Pacific region.

- Available to commit to a consistent internship period (minimum 3–6 months preferred).
